What is Page Rank?

PageRank is a patented method to assign a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents. It relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. What is Alexa Rank?

Alexa rank is another popular rank system that measures a web sites popularity. The lower the rank number the more popular your web page is. Alexa ranks your website against all the other web sites on the Internet. So if there was 1 million web sites and your alexa rank was 500,000 then you site is considered to be rated as middle of the table, or ranked about the same as half of the web sites on the net. Alexa is updated every 3 days or so making it one of the most accurate measures of a web sites popularity.
